Following the release of the soundtrack to the Internet-only film “Lost Change” in 2001 and his second solo album “Must B 21″ in 2003, comes the third solo effort from Black Eyed Peas’ lead rapper Will.I.Am in 2007. Being that those two albums were released on the independent imprint BBE Records, they were obviously not [...]

Older – George Michael

The original follow-up to George Michael’s “Listen Without Prejudice Volume One” was (obviously) going to be the second installment of the same album. However, due to the death of his lover and of course his much publicized fued with Sony Music in 1992, the album was inevitably scrapped and George began to start an entirely [...]

This artist first came to my attention all the way back in 1997, when he made a guest appearance on Spearhead’s second effort “Chocolate Supa Highway.” He and the band were doing a re-make of his father’s song “3 O’Clock Road Block,” which, at the time I naievely thought was an entirely original composition.

In February 2005 I headed on over to Spearhead’s official website, www.spearheadvibrations.com, because I hadn’t been there in a while. Needless to say, I came across a banner on the homepage stating “Coming soon to Australia ONLY: Michael Franti – Love Kamikaze: The Lost Sex Singles.” At first I thought this was going to be [...]

Prior to this album’s official release, Michael Franti posted a message on his website, Spearhead Vibrations, saying that so many songs had been recorded for the last Spearhead record, “Stay Human,” that exactly nine months after their third record was due for release, another brand new album was going to be released as its follow-up. [...]

This is Rahsaan Patterson’s third effort, which I believe was originally scheduled for release some time in 2002 via his former record label, MCA Records. However, his deal with the label gradually fell through & he ended up releasing it independently the following year after buying his masters back from the corporation.

Prince – The B-Sides

The year was 1993, I was eleven years old, I was on my way to school and the radio was playing in the background. Suddenly, an advertisement for HMV announced: “PRINCE, a 3 CD set of Greatest Hits and a bonus disc of B Sides and rarities – Fifty-nine ninety-five.” I freaked out, got down [...]
